My appreciation of the Brave Heart

Fight for freedom, die for freedom---The movie „the Brave Heart‟ tells us the colorful life of a famous figure named William Wallace in the history of Scotland.There was a time when the people in Scotland had to pay taxes and the beautiful girl‟s first night to English rulers, and if they didn‟t pay on time, the rulers would cruelly destroy their homes and take their lives.Under this historical background our hero Wallace was born.And he later fell in love with a girl called Mellone and to avoid the „right for first night‟, they got married secretly.But their love was discovered by the England soldiers and Mellone was lacerated in her throat.Then Wallace came to anger and began to fight for freedom.Wallace led the villagers to resist many attacks from England royal family, but they finally failed in the last attack.Wallace was captured and sentenced to death.All people urged him to say Mercy to beg for survival, but he exhausted his whole strength to shout out:”Freedom!”

The word was just like current that went through my body, and I was moved to tears by the heroic movie.William Wallace is a typical American hero who has a brave heart and a strong sense of righteousness.He devotes his life to pursuing for freedom.Although he doesn‟t realize his dream at last, he is still a hero in my eyes, because just as he has said, by fighting with enemies we can ”tell our enemies that they may take our lives, but they‟ll never take our freedom!” No freedom, no life.We refuse to live as a slave who has no freedom.We should fight for freedom and dignity despite the cost of our lives.Wallace says the famous remark ”Every man dies, not every man really lives.” The words make me ask myself that “Do I really live? How can I really live?” And the questions help me know the meaning of my life.In a word, it‟s really a great movie which I have watched three times, and a great movie which make us think a lot and get a lot.
