首先是生活中积累。生活中积累的内容包括家庭生活、学校生活和社会生活3个大方面，其内容是多侧面、多变化、多色彩的。每一个人都有自己的家庭，家庭生活同样丰富多彩，这是孩子们最先接触的“小社会”。家庭生活中有许多事情是作文的好材料，比如，听奶奶讲故事，看爷爷下棋，同爸爸打篮球，帮妈妈做家务。同时，还有自己的兴趣爱好，像唱歌、跳舞、画画等，这些材料都值得积累。
